Rotation holds (the breadth case). Flash PMIs print near consensus (manufacturing 55.5, services 57.9 in the carried survey), the S&P holds the 7,612 area (Thursday's intraday shelf above the 50-day zone) on a closing basis, and Thursday's breakout shelves hold their retests: the index stays red while the average stock keeps working, and the retest setups fill at their zones.
The rout broadens (the meter case). The AI credit stack deteriorates again (CoreWeave under $51, the Bernstein target; Meta CDS at another record), QQQ loses Thursday's low, and advancers flip negative: a Red meter at 59 was the early print of a general risk-off, and most long entries never trigger, which is the design working.
Rates or Paris intrude. Moody's reviews France's Aa3 (negative outlook) today with the OAT spread at about 157 bp on its last verified print (Oct 21), or the 10-year closes back above 5.20%: the macro takes the microphone from the rotation, and defensives keep the month's leadership by default.

New home sales is not a Friday release (it prints Tue Oct 27) and is not listed. Already out this morning and missed: France's flash composite PMI fell to 48.4 from 51.1, below the 50.5 poll forecast, with business expectations at a six and a half year low, and the eurozone composite fell to 51.9 from 53.1 against a 52.7 to 52.8 consensus (Reuters via S&P Global, Oct 23). That is the backdrop to tonight's Moody's review, not background noise. Yesterday's prints, followed up: initial claims and the LEI landed Thursday; no verified surprise characterization reached this desk's sources, so neither is characterized here. The data that moved Thursday was earnings and AI credit, not macro.
Earnings today: AXP and SLB reported before the open and both beat (AXP adjusted EPS $4.68 vs $4.50 expected; SLB adjusted EPS $0.64 vs $0.62, Reuters, Oct 23). The rest of the morning slate is in Earnings Minefield.
The AI complex repriced its financing, not its demand. Meta fell 6.98% to $648.85 after Oct 22 session coverage put its future lease and non-cancelable contract commitments at about $810B to $825B, up from about $700B in July, with its credit-default-swap risk at a record high (Capp Notes and Nasdaq Market Wrap, Oct 22, via the AI Trade Dashboard). CoreWeave fell 10.06% to $55.60, a fresh low, after Bernstein cut its target to $51 from $74 on financing concerns and an estimated $85B needed to fund its committed backlog; its bonds still yield over 15% (Motley Fool, Oct 22). Nvidia's Jensen Huang publicly defended the neoclouds the same day, saying demand is really high and they just need working capital (Bloomberg via FourWeekMBA, Oct 22), which confirms capital, not demand, is the binding constraint. The AI meter's response is in the right rail: 59, Red, up 8, flip rule fired.
Semiconductors took the second leg. The Philadelphia Semiconductor Index fell 6.72% with all 30 members down, and Lam Research fell 11.76% after warning that supply chain and clean room constraints into 2027 capped its December guide at $8.60B plus or minus $400M despite record $8.22B revenue (Capp Notes and AI Stock Wire, Oct 22). SMH fell 5.99% to $523.35 (Yahoo Finance close). Lam framed its cap as supply, not demand, and put the 2027 wafer-fab equipment outlook above $200B: the demand story and the equity story are now different stories.
Under the index, the average stock had a good day. The Dow closed at 52,867.98, up 0.02%, and the Russell 2000 rose 0.11% to 2,784.03 (Yahoo Finance closes) while the cap-weighted indices fell. The equal-weight S&P 500 rose 0.73% on the day (MarketBriefer, Oct 22). Desk-computed breadth on our universe: 595 advancers, 303 decliners, the share above the 50-day average up to 54.89% from 48.89%, and 68 names at a 52-week high against 42 on Wednesday. Staples rose 3.31%, utilities 2.07% and health care 1.32% on the SPDR tape. Lockheed Martin rose 6.96% on its beat and raised guide, CSX rose 6.76%, and Spotify rose 11.10% to $583.66 after its subscriber beat: Thursday paid for defense, rails, staples and idiosyncratic beats, and charged the AI complex for its balance sheet.
Seoul reversed, again. The KOSPI fell 3.52% to 5,533.77 on Thursday, erasing Wednesday's 3.29% rebound, with Samsung Electronics down 4.03% and SK hynix down 5.49% and foreign investors net sellers again (Korea JoongAng Daily and Longbridge, Oct 22, via the AI Trade Dashboard). Cumulative foreign selling of KOSPI shares from Oct 1 to 20 totaled 18.115 trillion won. The foreign leg of the AI trade is now a headwind in the meter, marked Yes for the first time.
After the close Thursday: beats, sold anyway. Western Digital beat (adjusted EPS $4.64 vs $4.09 expected, revenue $4.381B, up 55% year over year, with a raised guide) and fell about 6% after hours; Newmont beat (adjusted EPS $2.20 vs $1.94, revenue $6.36B); Bloom Energy beat (non-GAAP EPS $0.94 vs $0.71, revenue $1.24B, full-year guide raised) and fell 5% to 7% after hours (Zacks-based coverage, Oct 22). In a Red-meter tape, beats are being sorted by valuation and guide quality, not rewarded on the headline. This morning's two early prints broke the pattern: AXP and SLB both beat before the open (details in Today's Calendar and Earnings Minefield).
The tower complex got its own headline, and it is this page's lead setup. A Friday pre-market report that SpaceX is in talks with cellular infrastructure companies about a nationwide wireless carrier program (Reuters wraps, Oct 23, at 06:09 and 07:19 AM ET) sent Crown Castle up 8.5% to 8.6% in those wraps and +9.08% in Schwab Network's pre-market movers, with American Tower +6.79% and SBA Communications +6.51% on the Schwab list, while AT&T (-4.49%), T-Mobile (-4.46%) and Verizon (-3.87%) fell. CCI is today's #1 desk setup below, and the pre-market spike is exactly why its entry is a retest zone and not a chase: the levels are printed, the gap is not bought.
France is tonight's macro event. France's flash composite PMI fell to 48.4 from 51.1 (Reuters via S&P Global, Oct 23), the eurozone composite missed at 51.9, France's 10-year yield hit 5.14% on Thursday, its highest since July 2002, and Moody's is due to rule on the Aa3 (negative) rating after the US close, with most analysts expecting a cut (Reuters, Oct 23). Overnight, markets also stripped out almost a full quarter-point of next year's expected Fed hikes, with a December rise no longer fully priced at 85% implied probability (Reuters Asia wrap, Oct 23): the bond market is pricing slower growth, not easier AI financing.
Oil stayed the standing bid. WTI sat at about $101.03 to $101.10 this morning (CAMS and Investopedia snapshots, Oct 23), with Brent at about $114.00 to $114.32, a new five-month peak on the Houthi escalation headlines, after a $113.17 settlement on Thursday, up 4% (Reuters and MarketBriefer, Oct 22-23). Energy is up 8.34% over 21 sessions on the SPDR tape and the complex keeps its bid while supply headlines run; the desk treats the level as a volatility input to every entry, not a trade by itself.
| SCANNER UNIVERSE (S&P 500 + MIDCAP 400), OCT 22 CLOSE | READING |
|---|---|
| Advancers / decliners (900 names with bars; scanner scanned 898 liquid after 3 failed downloads: FITB, HXL, VYLR) | 595 / 303 |
| Above 50-day average | 54.89% |
| Above 200-day average | 52.45% |
| At a 52-week high | 68 |
Desk-computed from the scanner's refreshed price cache. The strangest breadth print of the month: on a day the S&P 500 fell 1.21%, advancers beat decliners two to one, the above-50-day share jumped from 48.89% to 54.89%, and 52-week highs rose from 42 to 68. Cap-weighted damage, equal-weighted progress. That split is why the scanner's menu below is dominated by breakouts from range in rails, defense, staples and industrials while every mega-cap trend line in Ticker Trends deteriorated. Put/call and full-market new-high/new-low counts had no dated verifiable source this morning and are omitted rather than estimated.
| INSTRUMENT | LEVEL | READ |
|---|---|---|
| Meta CDS | record high | Oct 22 (Capp Notes and Nasdaq Market Wrap via the AI Trade Dashboard); no basis-point print in this morning's sources, the level is printed as reported. The trigger: future lease and contract commitments of about $810B to $825B, up from about $700B in July |
| CoreWeave bonds | over 15% yield | Oct 22 (Motley Fool via the AI Trade Dashboard); stock $55.60, -10.06%, fresh low; Bernstein target cut to $51 on an estimated $85B backlog funding need |
| CoreWeave 5-yr CDS | 1,065.84 bp | Oct 21 (FactSet via CNBC, Oct 22 report); no verified Oct 22 print found this morning |
| 10-yr Treasury | 4.96% | Oct 22 Treasury daily par yield, down 17 bp in the biggest Treasury rally in over three years (Reuters, Oct 23); 2-yr 4.65%, down 16 bp; about 4.98% this morning. AI credit worsened while risk-free yields collapsed: the spread, not the rate, is the story |
| High-yield spread (ICE BofA OAS) | 327 bp | Latest verified print: Oct 21 (ICE BofA series via Equibles); the same series printed 333 bp on Oct 20, within 1 bp of the 332 bp CappNotes/OCBC print carried yesterday (a rounding and source difference, not a move). No verified Oct 22 cash print yet |
| France 10-yr | 5.14% Thu yield | Highest since Jul 2002 (Reuters, Oct 23); the spread over Bunds hit its widest in 15 years Thu and tested 170 to 175 bp on Friday morning (FXStreet, single source, timestamp-sensitive). Moody's decides tonight; most analysts expect a cut |
| Oracle 5-yr CDS | 308.25 bp | Oct 21 (FactSet via CNBC, Oct 22 report), a new high in this desk's series (prior verified 288 bp, Oct 15), against 141 bp on Jan 2, 2026 |
Desk ledger: CVX hit its $229 first target on Thursday (high $229.04) and is booked as a target win from the Oct 15 sheet; MMM hit its $176 first target (high $176.18), also booked. AAPL (Oct 15) and MU (Oct 21 sheet) remain open. Of Thursday's four setups: KMI filled and holds above its stop on a closing basis, CSX and LMT never filled and ran without us, and SPOT's $540 trigger fired on a gap through its entry zone, unfilled at printed levels. Scanner ledger: 24 of 68 signals resolved (6 wins, 18 losses, all momentum pullbacks), 44 open including today's 25. The learner folded 20 resolutions from Thursday's bars and the pullback factor fell 0.556 to 0.505: the pattern that carried the archive is failing in this tape, in public.
| GAINERS | DAY | WHY |
|---|---|---|
| ALLE Allegion | +11.02% | The day's best in the universe, and a scanner breakout today; company catalyst not verified in this morning's sources |
| R Ryder System | +10.49% | Scanner breakout today; catalyst not verified this morning |
| ROP Roper Technologies | +9.73% | Scanner breakout today; catalyst not verified this morning |
| RH RH | +9.48% | Consumer discretionary strength on a defensive day; catalyst not verified this morning |
| LEN Lennar | +8.69% | Homebuilder bid as yields eased on the day; name catalyst not verified this morning |
Just outside: WHR +8.56% (a reversal of Wednesday's -5.39%), BX +8.38% on its print day, LAD +8.15%, GIS +8.01%, and the two verified beats, LMT +6.96% and CSX +6.76%. The shape is the story: Thursday's gainers are locks, trucks, software-for-industry, housing and staples, not a single AI name among them.
| LOSERS | DAY | WHY |
|---|---|---|
| TTMI TTM Technologies | -27.67% | The day's worst in the universe by a wide margin; catalyst not verified in this morning's sources and not invented here |
| CRS Carpenter Technology | -20.62% | Materials and aerospace supply chain selling; catalyst not verified this morning |
| MRNA Moderna | -17.57% | Biotech selling; catalyst not verified this morning |
| MTSI MACOM | -15.87% | Chip complex: SOX -6.72% with all 30 members down (AI Trade Dashboard) |
| VICR Vicor | -15.66% | Power and chip adjacency selling inside the same complex move |
Just outside: MSM -15.35% (also a stopped scanner pullback, see the Scoreboard), GGG -15.32%, FORM -15.29%, FCFS -14.75%, VIAV -14.38%. Unlike Wednesday's idiosyncratic losers, Thursday's are a complex: chips, chip-adjacent industrials and high-multiple names, with the index damage concentrated exactly where the meter says it is.

| BB BlackBerry | $8.59 | -8.71% | Yahoo Finance close; 50-day not printed, the name is outside the scanner cache and the desk does not mix series | n/a | Dec 17 |
Closes, moving averages and RSI (Wilder) desk-computed from the scanner cache (Oct 22 bars); BB's close is a Yahoo Finance print pulled this morning and its RSI is printed n/a. Thursday's tells: only AAPL rose in the whole table, AMZN and META fell through their 50-day lines in one session (joining NVDA and GOOGL below theirs), and just two of the nine names here sit above their 50-day with room to spare. MSFT holds its line into its Oct 28 print; GOOGL, at RSI 33.5 and below its 200-day, is the oversold mega-cap into the same evening.
| INDEX | LAST | SUPPORT | RESISTANCE | THE READ |
|---|---|---|---|---|
| S&P 500 | 7,663.43 | Thursday's intraday shelf, then the 50-day area near 7,705 was lost on the close: the next shelf is the October repair base under 7,690 (Monday's 7,690.73 close area) | 7,757.17 (Wednesday's close), then 7,818.93 record high area | One session undid the three-day repair on the cap-weighted tape while breadth improved. A Friday close back above 7,705 reopens the repair; a second close under it with decliners leading would confirm the meter over the breadth. |
| SPY | $763.96 | $768.01 (50-day) is now overhead, lost Thursday | $773.09 (Wednesday's close) | SPY sits $4.05 under its 50-day after one session above it. The 50-day is resistance until reclaimed on a close. |
| QQQ | $704.47 | Thursday's low area, then the October lows | $725.14 (50-day) | QQQ's one-day reclaim of its 50-day (by $0.06 on Wednesday) failed immediately: -2.86% Thursday to $20 under the line. The tech tape needs a close back above $725.14 to argue anything else. |
| 10-yr yield | 4.96% Thu (Treasury par), about 4.98% this morning | 2-yr: 4.65% Thu (Treasury par), 4.6582% this morning (Reuters) | Yields collapsed on flight to safety (10-yr down 17 bp) while AI credit widened: the funding-cost problem is now a spread problem. Tonight's Moody's review of France is the rates event, not the US calendar. | |

SPDR closes desk-computed from Yahoo Finance prints pulled this morning (day change vs the Oct 21 close; 5-session and 21-session windows computed from the same series, the 21-session window standing in for the month and labeled as such). Seven of 11 sectors rose Thursday, the mirror image of the index print. The month's leadership is now explicitly defensive: staples +9.17%, energy +8.34%, utilities +7.85%, health care +7.41%, while technology (-6.66%) and communication (-4.57%) fund the rotation. Thursday was not a risk-off day for the average stock; it was a risk-off day for one complex.
Four conditional longs from this morning's 8:00 AM swing report, ranked as the swing desk ranked them. The swing sheet carried full levels only for CCI (printed below as its own); for LLY and KO it printed entry zones, and exact stops and first targets for LLY, KO and AAPL were not in the run record, so those levels are desk levels set off the Oct 22 close and labeled as such, with AAPL's $360 and $372 and KO's $100 flagged as the derived extension levels the swing delivery itself flagged (KO's $104 second target is the sourced UBS anchor). Earnings sit inside the holding window for three of the four: KO reports Tue Oct 27, LLY Thu Oct 29, and AAPL Mon Nov 2. The Oct 15, Oct 21 and Oct 22 setups are carried in the Scoreboard.
The swing desk's lead: CCI gapped last week on the SpaceX tower-talks story (printed as talk, as the swing report carried it) to a 10-session high of $83.26, and has since held above its rising 20-day ($73.83) with RSI at 59.7. Thursday's bar was quiet (open $76.29, high $80.40, close $78.83, +0.23%) while towers' rate-sensitive complex caught the defensive bid. Friday's pre-market tape then repriced the story: Reuters reported SpaceX in talks with cellular infrastructure companies on a nationwide wireless program, and CCI rose about 9% pre-market (Schwab Network movers, Oct 23), which makes the discipline the whole setup. The desk entry is the retest shelf around Thursday's $80.40 high print and the $80.40 line the swing sheet flagged, not a chase of the close: zone $79.50 to $81.50, stop under Thursday's $76.29 low, first target the $83.26 retest level itself and the swing sheet's second target at $97.24 beyond it. CCI already reported (Oct 20-21, a small miss on both lines), so there is no print risk inside the window; the risk is the story, and the stop prices it. Invalidation: close below $76.20
The swing sheet's own zone: LLY broke out Thursday (+2.83% to $1,306.69, high $1,321.21, a 10-session high) inside the health care bid (XLV +1.32% on the day, +7.41% on the month), with RSI at 70.7: strong, and hot enough that the desk buys the retest of the $1,293 to $1,301 breakout shelf rather than the close. The stop at $1,268 sits under Thursday's $1,275.10 low and Wednesday's $1,270.75 close (desk level). Targets are desk extension levels off the breakout, labeled as such, not the swing sheet's. The catch is printed in bold by the calendar: Lilly reports Thu Oct 29 (consensus about $5.63 to $5.70 EPS on about $22.6B revenue), inside any normal holding window. Size it as an earnings-carrying position or exit before the print; the setup does not pretend otherwise. Invalidation: close below $1,268
KO closed Thursday at $95.34, an all-time high (+2.87%, high $95.37), at the front of the staples leadership (XLP +3.31% Thursday, +9.17% over 21 sessions) with RSI at 73.6. The swing desk's call is a retest, and the desk agrees: all-time highs in a defensive tape get bought on the first orderly pullback, not at the high. Zone from Thursday's $93.60 low to just under the close; stop at $91.90 under the prior shelf (desk level); the first target at $100 is the derived extension level the swing delivery flagged, and the second at $104 is UBS's published target, the sourced anchor. KO reports Tue Oct 27 before the open (confirmed; Zacks consensus EPS $0.87, revenue $12.93B): the retest may be the print itself, and the stop assumes a gap can jump it. Invalidation: close below $91.90
The only riser in Ticker Trends on Thursday: AAPL closed at $348.22 (+1.23%), a 10-session high, above its 20-day ($338.57) and 50-day ($328.62) with RSI at 64.8, while every other mega-cap fell. The swing desk carries it as a continuation at smaller size, and the levels follow that sizing: entry from Thursday's $342.28 low area to the close, stop at $338 just under the 20-day (desk level), targets at $360 and $372, the derived extension levels the swing delivery itself flagged as derived rather than sourced. Note the ledger overlap: the Oct 15 sheet's AAPL position (entry zone $342.50 to $344.00, stop $337.50, targets $355 and $360) is still open at $355 short of its first target; today's continuation overlaps that zone. The desk prints both rather than quietly merging them, and scores them as published, separately. AAPL reports Mon Nov 2 after the close (confirmed by Apple IR), outside the near window but inside a two-week hold. Invalidation: close below $338.00
From the Thursday, October 22 close: the scanner qualified 25 signals across its 898-name liquid universe (20 breakouts from range, 5 momentum pullbacks) and the top 10 print here, ranked by pattern factor times reward-to-risk. No padding: the cap is 10 and the sheet earned 25. Three honest flags. First, the menu flipped: breakouts, the archive's best pattern (71.7% on a small n of 46), are 80% of the sheet after being a third of it yesterday, and every one of the top 9 here is a breakout in the rotation complexes (rails, defense, staples, industrials). Second, CSX (#2) and LMT (#4) are yesterday's desk no-fills: the desk setups never triggered at their retest zones and the names ran; the scanner now prints them as fresh breakouts at the close, a different entry at a different price, and the two ledgers keep their own books. Third, PG (#7) was a swing-desk watch name this morning; the scanner's breakout print is the scanner's, ranked by its own factor math. The pullback pattern's live collapse (see the Scoreboard) is why only one pullback, RGEN at #1 on its 2.63 R/R, makes this page.

Breakout from range: +8.4% day out of a 6.1% five-day range on 2.0x volume. The entry zone is the retest shelf from the stop under the range to the close; the pattern pays only while the shelf holds. Resolves against these levels over the next 10 sessions in the public ledger. Invalidation: close below $109.25
Breakout from range: +10.5% day out of a 5.0% five-day range on 2.0x volume. The entry zone is the retest shelf from the stop under the range to the close; the pattern pays only while the shelf holds. Resolves against these levels over the next 10 sessions in the public ledger. Invalidation: close below $244.29
Method, in the open: pattern factors start as the archive win rates (momentum pullback 55.6% from 1,185 resolved signals; breakout from range 71.7% from 46, the archive's best rate on its smallest sample; cup and handle 56.1% from 41), held as Bayesian priors capped at 120 pseudo-signals. Each signal resolves win, loss or expired against its own printed stop and target within 10 sessions, first touch, stop checked first within a day; expired counts as no win. Today the learner folded 20 resolutions, every one a momentum pullback: 4 wins and 16 losses on Thursday's bars, taking the live pullback record to 6 wins in 24 (25.0%, expectancy -0.327R) and the pullback factor from 0.556 to 0.505. The factor printed on this sheet was set before that fold (the scanner runs before the learner, per the published run order), so today's pullback ranking still used 0.554; tomorrow's sheet ranks on 0.505. Small samples, printed anyway: that is the point of a public ledger.
| FIRM (OCT 22-23) | TICKER | ACTION |
|---|---|---|
| JPMorgan, Mizuho, Barclays, Goldman, BofA, UBS, RBC | META | A target-raise cluster after the Oct 21 Q3 print (revenue $64.60B vs $63.37B expected): JPMorgan $940 from $920, Mizuho $950 from $750, Barclays $880 from $780, Goldman $860 from $725, BofA $845 from $810, UBS $892 from $884, RBC $800 from $770; Wedbush raised to $730 from $700 and stayed Neutral (MarketBeat and CNBC roundups, Oct 22-23). The Street raised targets into a -6.98% session and a record CDS print: the disagreement is the story |
| JPMorgan | CME | Double upgrade, Underweight to Overweight, $367 target (roundup, Oct 22) |
| Phillip Securities; BofA | SPCX SpaceX | Phillip upgraded Sell to Buy, target $250 from $75 (Barron's, Fri Oct 23); BofA raised to $275 from $235 (Oct 22 roundup) |
| Freedom Broker | KMI | Upgraded to Buy (Oct 22), with Mizuho also raising its target, after the verified Q3 beat (EPS $0.35 vs $0.33, revenue $4.53B vs $4.37B, Zacks, Oct 21). Directly relevant to yesterday's KMI desk setup, which filled Thursday |
| Needham | LRCX | Target cut to $290 from $390 (Oct 22 roundup), after Lam's supply-capped guide inside the chip rout |
| RBC | BROS | Downgraded to Sector Perform (Oct 22 roundup) |
| Freedom Broker | NEM | Downgraded Buy to Hold (Oct 22 roundup), printed ahead of Newmont's after-close beat the same evening |
| CLSA | TSLA | Upgraded Underperform to Hold, $400 target (Oct 22 roundup) |
| Baird | NOC | Outperform, target $675 from $550 (Oct 21, carried): Thursday's +2.42% to $552.35 kept the upgrade's logic running after the desk setup's no-fill |
Context: 208 analyst actions were tallied on Oct 22 with 79 target raises against 30 cuts (Everhint tally via the morning research). The shape matches the tape: raises clustered on a mega-cap whose stock and credit both fell (META), on defense and energy infrastructure (NOC, KMI), and on the week's idiosyncratic winners, against cuts in the chip supply chain (LRCX). Targets are opinions with dates, printed here as such.
| NAME | WHY IT IS ONLY A WATCH |
|---|---|
| PG $165.59 | The swing desk's watch name and the scanner's #7 breakout on the same close, after PG reported Oct 22. A breakout the morning after a print, at the front of the staples leadership, is a retest candidate next week, not a Friday chase |
| V $414.34 | RSI 79.1 after Thursday's +1.59% to a 10-session high, into its Tue Oct 27 after-close print. The desk retired this setup after two no-fills; the watch is for the post-print shelf, not the run into it |
| META $648.85 | Down 6.98%, below its 50-day, CDS at a record high, and the Street raising targets into the fall. Every ingredient of a fight, none of an entry: the desk watches whether $632.56 (the 200-day area) becomes the argument |
| CRWV $55.60 | Fresh low, -10.06%, bonds over 15%, Bernstein target $51. Credit leads this stock and credit made a new low Thursday. A watch until the bonds vote otherwise |
| AMT / SBAC | The swing desk's tower pair, both up hard pre-market on the same Reuters SpaceX wireless report (AMT +6.79%, SBAC +6.51%, Schwab Network, Oct 23). No clean individual entries at a +6% gap; CCI carries the complex's one printed setup, as a retest |
| NOK | The swing desk's watch after its Thursday print slate: no verified post-print level set in this desk's sources, so it stays a watch rather than becoming a desk-invented setup |
| RNG / RHI | The swing desk's remaining watch pair. RNG reported after Thursday's close (adjusted EPS $1.33 vs $1.27 expected, revenue $676.04M): a beat to study over the weekend, not a Friday entry |
| BB $8.59 | Down 8.71% Thursday (Yahoo Finance), giving back the week's two strong days. A price fact worth watching; no catalyst verified in this desk's sources, and no story invented |
| NAME | DATE | NOTE |
|---|---|---|
| AXP, SLB | Today, reported before the open | Both beat: AXP adjusted EPS $4.68 vs $4.50 expected, revenue $20.06B (about in line with $20.12B expected, up 9%); SLB adjusted EPS $0.64 vs $0.62 (LSEG via Reuters), revenue $9.449B vs $9.28B. The rest of today's morning slate (MarketChameleon calendar, as of Oct 22): INFY, FCNCA, RCI, BAH, ALV, BCPC, RITM, GNTX, FLG, FHB among 17 US names; BAH raised its full-year guide to $6.50 to $6.70 on revenue of $2.78B. No marquee after-close name verified for tonight |
| WDC, NEM, BE | Reported Thu after close | All three beat and the tape sorted them anyway: WDC (EPS $4.64 vs $4.09, revenue $4.381B, guide raised) fell about 6% after hours; BE (EPS $0.94 vs $0.71, revenue $1.24B, guide raised to $4.4B to $4.6B) fell 5% to 7%; NEM (EPS $2.20 vs $1.94, revenue $6.36B) carried Freedom Broker's fresh downgrade into its beat |
| KO | Tue Oct 27, before open, confirmed | Today's #3 setup reports inside its holding window: Zacks consensus EPS $0.87 on revenue of $12.93B, call 8:30 AM ET. V reports the same day after the close (consensus about $3.43); BA reports before the open |
| MSFT, GOOGL | Wed Oct 28, after close, confirmed | The week's gauntlet, the same evening as the FOMC decision (Oct 27-28 meeting). MSFT holds its 50-day into the print; GOOGL sits below its 200-day at RSI 33.5 |
| LLY, AMZN | Thu Oct 29 | LLY before the open (consensus about $5.63 to $5.70 EPS on about $22.6B revenue): today's #2 setup carries this print inside its window, flagged in the setup itself. AMZN after the close (consensus about $1.96 on about $202.10B); INTC after the close and MA before the open the same day |
| CVX, XOM | Fri Oct 30, before open | CVX consensus about $4.86 EPS on about $61.33B revenue (MarketBeat); XOM about $3.80 on about $110.14B. CVX's Oct 15 desk position already booked its first target Thursday; the print prices the second |
| AAPL | Mon Nov 2, after close, confirmed (Apple IR) | Not next week, despite the calendar chatter: Apple confirmed Nov 2 (MacRumors, Oct 6), consensus about $1.99 to $2.00 EPS on about $113B revenue. Today's #4 setup and the open Oct 15 AAPL position both carry it at the edge of their windows |
The desk ledger (published Oct 15). CVX resolved as a target win: Thursday's high of $229.04 touched the $229 first target for the first time (Wednesday's high was $228.48), booking the Oct 15 sheet's first target win; the position's second target at $233 and its $213.70 stop remain the live levels for the remainder, and the name reports Fri Oct 30. AAPL closed at $348.22 (low $342.28, above its $337.50 stop), open, T1 at $355 now $6.78 away. Closed earlier: MPC, stopped Oct 20 (booked loss), and GILD, expired unfilled.
Oct 21 setups, resolved against Thursday's bars. MMM resolved as a target win: Thursday's high of $176.18 touched its $176 first target; booked. MU: open and underwater, Thursday's low of $849.25 held $9.25 above its $840 stop while the close fell 6.26% to $856.49 with the chip complex; the stop is the line and it has not been touched. NOC and V were already recorded as no-fills (V retired); Thursday changed nothing in their scoring.
Thursday's setups (published Oct 22), resolved against Thursday's bars. KMI: filled, Thursday traded through its $33.60 to $34.00 zone on 31.4M shares (2.4x its 20-day average) after the verified Q3 beat (EPS $0.35 vs $0.33, revenue $4.53B, Zacks, Oct 21); the intraday low of $32.46 pierced the $33.15 stop level, and the setup's published invalidation was a close below $33.15, and the close was $33.72: recorded open, with the intraday pierce printed here rather than smoothed over. CSX: no fill, Thursday's low of $49.44 never reached the $47.85 to $48.40 zone while the stock rose 6.76% to $51.67, most of the way to its $52.67 first target without us: a no-fill, the GILD rule. LMT: no fill, the stock gapped to a $579.51 open, never approached the $544.66 to $551.51 zone, and closed at $589.91 above both printed targets: a no-fill, not a win, however good the thesis was. SPOT (conditional): the $540 trigger fired decisively (open $561.29, close $583.66, +11.10%), but the stock gapped through the printed $540 to $552 entry zone and never traded back into it: recorded as triggered and unfilled at the printed levels, carried as a watch, not a booked position.
The scanner ledger had its first big resolution day. Twenty signals resolved on Thursday's bars, every one a momentum pullback: wins for WAT twice (Oct 16 sheet +1.597R in 4 sessions; Oct 19 sheet +2.171R in 3), IQV (+1.597R, 3 sessions) and DHR (+1.52R, 2 sessions); losses at their stops for AME (twice), MSM, TT (twice), IEX (twice), TEL (twice), NDSN, and all six of the Oct 21 sheet's pullbacks in a single session (BRKR, JCI, QCOM, TEL, CR, MCHP, each -1.0R in 1 session). The ledger now stands at 24 resolved of 68 published (6 wins, 18 losses, expectancy -0.327R, every resolution a pullback so far) and 44 open, including today's 25 (sheets print in full in their runs; the cap of 10 applies to this page, not to the ledger). The learner folded all 20: live pullback record 6 wins in 24 (25.0%) and the pullback factor fell from 0.556 to 0.505, within sight of the 50% line that flags a pattern for human review on 20 or more live resolutions. The desk does not intervene today: the rule flags at 20-plus resolutions under 50% posterior, the posterior is 50.5%, and the breakout family, which has no live resolutions yet, is carrying the menu. The Saturday Ledger carries the full week.
Pattern Weather. The menu flipped regime in one session: from 13 signals with a pullback majority on Wednesday's sheet to 25 signals that are 80% breakouts from range on Thursday's, the same session that stopped out six pullbacks in a day and pushed 68 universe names to 52-week highs while the S&P fell 1.21%. That is what a rotation looks like from inside a ledger: the pattern that works in a trend tape (ride the pullback) fails when leadership changes hands, and the pattern that works in a leadership change (the range breakout) prints in bulk. The meter is Red on the AI complex's financing at the same time. Both readings are printed because both are true, and the levels, not the narratives, will settle which one pays next week.
Two old ledgers, printed side by side, never blended. The legacy product page tracked 663 patterns (651 resolved) at a 61.9% win rate and +0.08R expectancy under its per-setup yardstick (audit Oct 2). The complete signal export received since (Oct 17) covers 3,494 signals, of which 1,903 are closed: win rate 52.3%, expectancy +0.106% per signal, profit factor 1.07, average hold 2.9 days, under the archive evaluator's rules. The export is the fuller record and supersedes the page figures for the old system. This page keeps one ledger, in public, from Oct 15 forward.
